For those in East Nashville wanting great authentic Mexican food and do not mind take-out, now there are great tacos even closer than El Jaliciense Supermarket up the road in Inglewood. This small vender parked next to the M&S Market-gas station almost across the street from Pepperfire is a super taqueria behind a hand written sign (a different name is on the north side). Sampling the tongue, carne de res, and al pastor tacos showed them to be flavorful, tender, but with a little crispness at the edges of the soft tacos. And for $1.50 each, they are a great value. With a squirt of homemade red or green taco sauce, cilantro, onion, and a smattering of sliced radish, yum!They also have quesadillas and tortas which we did not try. The owner also mentioned possible serving posole during the weekends in the future, something that would be hearty and filling for cooler nights. Let those who want gloppy Tex-Mex eat down the block at Las Maracas--the staff of which will likely eat at the end of a shift in a place like this!
